All Brazilian embroidery stitchers love their flowers – and now you will
have a chance to preserve our beloved flowers forever, with B. E. Flower
Preserves, a design featuring all of the basic B.E. stitches as well as a few
specialty techniques. You’ll proudly display jars of Marigold Salsa (made with
up-down cast-on stitches), Pickled Pansies (incorporating the dimensional
raised buttonhole stitch), Dianthus Dip (showcasing the BDEIG Flower of the
Year 2009 with long and short satin stitch and French knots) and Wildflower
Preserves (using basics such as lazy daisy, pistil stitch, bullions and cast-on
stitches, plus my original knotted loop stitch).

with Bouclé and Lola bullions. A flower from Rosalie’s book, My LadyFlowers,
inspires realistic michelmas daisies. The blazing stars are made with wrapped
double cast-on stitches and blanket-stitched maidenhair ferns fill out the
design.

Her sister is a sedate
young lady who graces vintage quilts and demurely involves herself in ladylike
domestications. But Sunbonnet Sue has a sister who is quite sassy - her
name is Sunflower Sue! She loves her garden, constantly tending her flowers with her pet
poodle Roy at her side. She's bright and lively and enjoys soaking up the
garden's color as she makes her way to the rose arbor with a basket of flowers
(and a current novella, iced tea and chocolates) in one hand and roy in the
other. Unsure of Roy's intensions, her pet kitten keeps a safe distance.
