Sadi
Thread
Sadi Thread is an exciting and beautiful medium which may be
incorporated into many forms of needlecraft
e.g. to highlight and enhance silk embroidery, as an integral part of metal
thread work and ecclesiastical embroidery, Stumpwork,
embroidery on clothing and accessories etc., Sadi is a coiled, spiraled wire
with a hollow central tube and is available in a smooth, a check (multi-faceted)
and pearl.
Types of Sadi: Sadi is currently available in
gold & Silver.
Smooth (plain) in both broad and fine
gauge.
Check (bright), a multi-faceted sadi which
catches the light. Broad and fine gauge.
Pearl ( very tightly coiled) available in fine gauge. Can be
pulled out a little and makes a good edge.
Care must be taken when pulling-out Sadi thread. It
does not return to its original size once it is stretched.
Sadi may be either couched, cut to desired length and stitched down as though
it were a bead. Makes Fabulous Bullions!
Also useful as "spacings" for jewelery, floral arrangements, bridal & evening
wear.
