The following basic stitching techniques are NOT included : Stem Stitch, Leaf stitch, French Knots, Satin stitch, Chain stitch, Pistil Stitch, Bullions, Long French Knots, Cast-on stitches, Detached Buttonhole, Blanket stitch or Double Cast-on.

The directions tell you how to USE the above stitches to make the design. If you know the technique to make the above stitches-no other directions are needed.

The following is a list of thread weights and colors used in the sample followed by an alternative suggestion. Whenever a "non-EdMar" thread is suggested, you can replace it with Cire` or Glory or Iris of your color choice. These are only a suggestion. Dye lots and personal preferences make a big difference in your choices.

Greens: Iris 304 & 121 for the leaves and stems.
        Use Glory to match for the couched branches.
Violets:  Lola 125, 117
Blue Bell:  Lola 114
Frilly Rose:  Lola 006
Top Butterfly:  Glory 111, 139 & 92
Middle Butterfly: Glory 000, Metallic Thread, Madeira 751, 513;
      Ribbon Floss-multi color (11) or Alternative: Lola or Iris 028,037
       or 026 and Iris 083, 131 or 135},
Bottom Butterfly: Glory 136, 058, 206; fine metallic thread or {Iris 129}
Impatiens:  Iris & Cire` 220 or 219
Dragon Fly:  DMC Gold or {Glory 129};
      Madeira (751) or  Iris 028,037 or 026};         
     Radiance (Aquamarine) or {Boucle`158};
     Kreinik #8 braid (034) or {Alternative: Iris 158}
M&M Rose or Rolled Rose:  Iris 000
