Beginners - Intermediate Beginners Brazilian Embroidery Design Design Area:  10.5" x  11"
Intended Finished size: 20 in. x 20 in.
Fabric apx. cut  size: 23 in. x 23 in.
This design has been placed on fabric big enough
for a 20 in x 20 inch  pillow or be used as an exquisite
framed piece of art.
 The top picture is the direction that Ruth intended for the design to be.
I personally like it turned this way.

The instructions assume the basic knowledge of Brazilian Embroidery or the availability of beginner's books for stitch techniques.
The following basic stitches are NOT included: Stem stitch, Outline stitch, straight stitch, Pistil stitch, French knots, Bullions, Running Bullions, Long French Knots, Satin Stitch, Cast-On, Double Cast-on Stitch. If you know the basic technique for these stitches you will need no other directions or books.

The directions in the pattern tell how to use the above stitches to create the flowers in the design.

Hearts: Cire` or Iris 125, Iris 127, Gold metallic thread or gold Glory.
Small Roses: Lola 041
Tiny Flower spray: Glory 125.
Borders on Paisley: Lola 137
Cast-on design: Lola, Iris 143.
Japanese Violet Bud: Lola 137.
Redbuds: Iris 143.
Crossed Double cast-on Flower: Iris 127.
Fan Shaped Flowers: Iris 125 and Iris 127.
Pomegranate shaped Flower: Iris or Cire` 125, Lola 137
